I have been chatting with a rehab centre and they tell me they will detox me using Librium. Does it work? Has anyone had a detox this way? I really cannot do with the cravings if it doesn't work.

Hi Harry, Most Rehab Centres use Librium to detox clients from Alcohol. It does work and will dramatically remove the cravings. What a lot of centres do is give you Librium as well as other drugs to help you sleep, restore your apatite etc. You must try to remember these centres are here to help you, not do you down. You will also find that most of these centres have staff who are ex-addicts themselves, so they know what you are going through and how to help. Never try to detox yourself as it can lead to a fit, seizure and in some cases will be fatal. Good Luck.
