TV Programme "Smugglers"

Did anyone see the TV Programme "Smugglers" last night?
There was a man with his wife smuggling £250,000 worth
Of Cocaine in the tailgate of his people carrier. His wife
Knew nothing about it. He got caught and ended up getting
A fine and "6 years" in prison. His wife was set free as really
Had no idea he was smuggling the stuff.
To cut a long story short, it came to light in interviewing
the husband that he would have be paid £900
By the dealers if he had got away with it. Yes £900 for smuggling
£250,000 worth of Cocaine.

What I can never understand is, at what point does money become more important than your family, friends, your life etc???
That chap will now spend a minimum of 3 years (you serve half your sentence for 5 years or more) in prison for £900. Will his wife want to know him when he comes out? Will his friends want to be associated with him when he comes out? More to the point, what are the dealers going to do? After all he has lost £250,000 of their Cocaine?

Hi Steve, later on in the programme another man aged 48 years old as well, was caught from the same town, with his wife, again who knew nothing about it, but this time with Heroin. The same sort of amount. Again got 6 years. Both men had money problems.

Hi Bob, if you think of the amount of lives £250,000 of Cocaine, and £250,000 worth of Heroin can destroy, then as far as I am concerned 6 years was not long enough!!!!!

Hi chaps, what I think is, let him carry on his journey and deliver the drugs, and when he does, have a team of police there to catch the dealers. Job done.
